Lo and Behold: Reveries of the Connected World is a 2016 documentary by Werner Herzog that explores the origins, power, and impact of the internet—from its birth through ARPANET to the rise of artificial intelligence and the human dependence on connectivity.
The film was commissioned by cybersecurity brand NetScout and developed in collaboration with the agency Pereira & O’Dell. What began as a branded content idea evolved into a full-length feature film under Herzog’s visionary direction.
Premiering at Sundance 2016, it received widespread critical acclaim for transforming a tech-driven subject into a deeply human and philosophical narrative. The film features several leading figures in technology, including Elon Musk, and holds a 92% critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
